When wandering around any region, we always naturally appreciate getting to know the local uniqueness. Of course, in each of them there are people who are enchanted by the scent of the Dales. And the intoxication is often so great that they don't keep their passion to themselves. Thanks to this enchantment, you too can encounter pure exoticism here in the Jeseníky Mountains.

Thanks to our love for the Black Continent, you can find yourself in the middle of the African savannah. Between Vrbno pod Pradědem and Albrechtice, in a picturesque hilly landscape full of meadows and pastures, lies the small village of Jelení. Below the Jelení Hill there is the Bellama Farm, which includes a private museum of Africa. And its museum collection will certainly surprise you. In total, it houses over two thousand exhibits, ranging from African insects and birds to large African animals. A rarity is the giraffe, whose body was created by the preparators in the museum building due to its size. However, there is also a rhinoceros, lions, tigers, antelopes, hyenas, crocodiles and a black mamba. When you find yourself standing on your hind legs under the polar bear exhibit, in your amazement at its size, you might even forget that it doesn't exactly belong in the African animal kingdom. Africa is further showcased by a large central aquarium in one of the rooms that simulates the freshwater waters of Kenya's Lake Malawi.

On the other hand, the Augustýn family in Horní Lipová fulfilled their dream of having their own small zoo. In their ZOO Faunapark, which is not only popular with children, you can meet live animals from Africa, Asia, South America and Australia. Perhaps the biggest attraction there is a pair of Ussuri tigers. Not so long ago, the older of the two, Diego, used to roam the village on a leash as a kitten. Free-flying parrots are also a local rarity. The Lipa squadron consists of the macaw, the green-winged macaw, the harlequin macaw and the white cockatoo. You will definitely have fun with a family of lemurs or a group of meerkats. Other residents include kangaroos, ostriches, turtles and llamas.

In nearby Petříkov, the love of other continents is manifested in a completely different way. The owner of the local restaurant and accommodation, which is ideal especially for outdoor schools, has a soft spot for the high mountains. The restaurant is not only a traditional meeting place for his mountaineering friends, but is also renowned for its Tibetan and Nepalese cuisine based on original recipes. It is at the Sport Grill in Petříkov that you will be transported from the Jeseník-Krychleb borderlands to the peaks of the Himalayas in no time thanks to the fragrant plate.

It is at the foot of the Low Jeseník, in Paseka near Sovinec, that you can enjoy the sight of exotic flora. On a reclaimed landfill in an old quarry there is a large arboretum with a collection of around three and a half thousand species of perennials and rock plants. Among the traditional plants there are cacti, lotuses and ripening figs.
