Don't miss the idyll by the sea 30.06.2020 - Tomáš Rak vložil article 30.06.2020 06:01 When you arrive at the dock in Leskovec, you may also find your ears deafened by the enthusiastic exclamations of children from the back seats, "Oh, yeah, the pier". And you won't be far from the truth. The harbour overlooking the Jeseníky ridge, where historic wooden sailing ships and modern yachts are moored, is on the banks of the Slezská Harta, the dam that is truly called the ʹJessenian Seaʹ. The level of the Silesian Harta glitters at the foot of the youngest volcanoes in the Czech Republic, which are part of the Low Jeseník. The youngest dam in the Czech Republic was created on the Moravice River out of the need to strengthen the lower-lying Kružberk Dam. Today, however, it is also one of the most popular tourist sites in our region. And there is certainly no shortage of full-fledged summer relaxation here. The grassy beaches offer great refreshment in the clear water that originates from the highest parts of the Jeseníky Mountains. However, swimming at sunset or fishing in the quiet bays with the morning mists rising above are not the only attractions of the dam. A miniature replica of Columbus' sailing ship Santa Maria regularly sets sail from the harbour in Leskovec nad Moravicí for romantic cruises. Sightseeing cruises are also offered by the steel catamaran Harta, which you can board with a pram or bicycle. If you don't feel like waiting for these vessels to set sail, rent a four-seater motorboat, pedal boat or paddleboard. However, if you are more ambitious, there is also a cabin sailboat rental and a sailing school at Slezská harta. And believe me, one way or another, you'll remember your hot summer day at Slezská harta for a long time and you'll be back again soon. | |
