E-bikes in Jeseníky have the green light 08.07.2020 - Tomáš Rak vložil article 08.07.2020 07:39 Last year, one in four bicycles sold in our country was equipped with an electric drive. And according to forecasts, electric bikes will continue to conquer the Czech Republic this year. And in the Jeseníky mountains, we are definitely accommodating the enthusiastic owners of electric bicycles. In spring, a network of charging stations was installed across the region. The positive attitude towards e-bikes only confirms the fact that we are one of the biggest cycling enthusiasts in Europe. However, if you want to go on holiday with such a bike, recharging the battery can sometimes be a big hassle. That is why during the spring, thanks to a joint project of the Olomouc and Mo- ravskoslez Region, forty charging points were installed across the Jeseníky, Rychlebské hory and Králický Sněžník mountains. "Each station includes a specialised POWERBOX.ONE charger including 2x BOSCH chargers, 2x SHIMANO chargers and 4x 230 V connections for charging other e-bike systems. Such equipped, covered stations also include a map with interesting places and nearby charging points," says Tomáš Rak, director of the Jeseníky Tourism Association, which coordinates the project. The charging stations were logically located throughout the region at selected electric bike rental companies, guesthouses, museums and restaurants. You can find them from Heroltice, which is connected to the Orlické Mountains in the east, to Opava in the west, from the Ráčí Valley in Rychleby to the Wesselsky water mill on the banks of the Oder. Currently, e-bikes can be charged at 42 locations in the region. For an overview map and a list of all stations, visit www.jeseniky.cz. The paper cycling map, which includes not only the marked stations but also Jeseníky bike parks, trails, YEScyklo cycling circuits and long-distance routes through the Jeseníky Mountains, is available in all information centres in the region, in selected bike rental shops, tourist sites and accommodation facilities. | |
