The border separates the Czech Republic from its Polish neighbours by almost eight hundred kilometres. However, the often common history of the Czech-Polish border and its natural beauty cannot be divided. Join us in tracing the traces of this peculiar territory and put together unique itineraries for your trips that know no borders.

Do you know the Krkonoše Mountains, Králický Sněžník, Rychlebské hory or Beskydy equally well from the Polish side? Did you know that the Polish town of Złoty Stok at the foot of the Rychleb Mountains was owned by the South Bohemian Rožmberks and that Kladsko was also part of the Bohemian Kingdom? Have you wandered through the Stolowe hory National Park, which is the Polish sibling of our Adršpach-Teplice Rocks? Have you visited the Polish border spa, which is one of the oldest in the world?

If your answers are in the negative, it really is time to change that. The excursion destinations of the Czech-Polish border region on both sides of the border are now presented in a special newspaper, which was created through the cooperation of many institutions.

"The Czech-Polish Tourist Newspaper once again creates a unique puzzle out of artificially divided natural and cultural units. Along the entire length of the Czech-Polish border from Hrádek nad Nisou to Hrčava, they present natural units in their untouched expanses and diversity. It offers a unique insight into their common history thanks to the most interesting museums, the most beautiful castles, as well as the best amusement parks," adds Tomáš Rak, director of the Jeseníky Tourism Association, which is involved in the creation of the newspaper.

The newspaper is published twice a year and is available free of charge at any proper tourist information centre throughout the border area. You can find out more at www.tourism-pl-cz.eu.

Tips on where to go for natural attractions on the Czech side of the mountains

Of course, you come to the Jeseníky and Rychlebské hory Mountains primarily to see their natural beauty. So what themed nature trails should you not miss? Definitely the Bílá Opava nature trail, which takes you through the deep valley of the eponymous stream to the highest parts of the Jeseníky Mountains.

The Koprníček Bear Root will take you along the ridge between Červenohorské sedlo and Ramzová. To help you along the route, it has well-designed information panels that will attract not only curious children.

Among the most visited nature trails in the Jeseníky Mountains is the one to the Large Moss Lake in Rejvíz. The rare peat ecosystem there was created 6 to 7 thousand years ago. Today, peat bogs and other rare plants grow in the boggy spruce forests and mud pines around the popular hiking trail.

If you are interested not only in nature but also in industrial monuments and history, you should take a trip along the Pasák nature trail around Branná. You will discover that in this rugged region there were tenacious people who had to work hard and were determined to fight hard for their home.

You will discover interesting facts about the history and nature of the Rychleby Mountains on the nature trail leading from Javorník through the picturesque Račí Valley to the ruins of Rychleby.

And if you don't want to miss any of the unique features of our mountains, head to the forests above the Priessnitz spa. The spa's fame literally springs from dozens of springs at the foot of Studniční vrch. In the local landscape there are over sixty springs, monuments, viewpoints, memorial rocks and crosses. You can discover them thanks to several hiking trails.
